Enhanced Armed Guard - Now Available!
This is a 2-day State approved training course to for qualified officers to utilize 5.56/.223 caliber rifles and 12 gauge shotguns.

Course Length: 16 hours (2 days, Thursday and Friday)

Bring to class: 5.56/.223 caliber rifle with sling and 200-300 rounds of ammunition. No rentals available for this class. You also need a means of storing spare mags, mag pouch, chest rig, or body armor, etc.
No FRT or bump fire setups may be fired during the qualification.
Not required to attend, but if you want to add shotgun as well you'll need your firearm and 75 rounds total of buckshot and slugs. The state only authorizes 12 gauge pump shotguns with fixed stocks.
Optic of some sort is highly recommended.
Weather appropriate clothing for outdoor range on day 2
This training is intended for security guards who meet the eligibility requirements under Tennessee Code Annotated §62-35 to receive an Enhanced Armed Guard Certification to utilize rifles and shotguns. The state requires 4 years of military combat arms experience or 5 years of LEO experience and an active armed guard license.
This 16-hour state-approved course includes classroom instruction on firearm safety, use of force, marksmanship, and Tennessee Private Protective Services laws. Students must pass a written exam and live-fire qualification to complete training.
After completing the course, students may apply for the Enhanced certification with the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance.
This two day course is conducted by state-certified instructors from Absolute Protection Academy at least quarterly.
