State approved training course to qualify for your Tennessee Armed Security Guard License.

Bring to class: Note taking material; reliable firearm (Rentals available for $80, includes ammo); 100 rounds of ammo (no reloads) per firearm; Outside the waistband holster; Extra magazine for firearm; Weather appropriate clothing for range (Tuesday)
NOTE: New Armed Guard training includes the basic unarmed class. You do not need to sign up for both.
The Tennessee Armed Security Guard License is required for individuals who provide private security services while carrying a firearm. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements under Tennessee Code Annotated §62-35.
This 16-hour state-approved course includes classroom instruction on firearm safety, use of force, marksmanship, and Tennessee firearm laws. Students must pass a written exam and live-fire qualification to complete training.
After completing the course, students may apply for their armed guard registration with the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. The process includes electronic fingerprinting, background screening, and payment of the state licensing fee.
This two day course is conducted by state-certified instructors from Absolute Protection Academy every Monday and Tuesday.
